South Lakes Housing welcomes tenants from Lune Valley Rural Housing Association

South Lakes Housing (SLH) today welcomes tenants from Lune Valley Rural Housing Association http://www.lunevalleyhousing.co.uk/ as part of a deal which will see SLH provide management and maintenance services under a 10-year Managing Agent partnership.

SLH will carry out repairs, collect rents, upgrade homes, manage tenancies, let empty homes and help resolve anti-social behaviour as part of the contract. They will also report performance on these matters and other finance and governance items every quarter to the Lune Valley Board.

John Mansergh, Director of Business Assurance said This is a win-win deal for both organisations we both face similar rural challenges and, as we operate in similar geographies, so the partnership will make for more efficient use of resources. We aim to provide a good quality and value for money service to tenants, alongside improved accountability to the Lune Valley Board.

Lune Valley Rural Housing Association is an independent Housing Association that owns over 90 properties in the Lancaster, Craven and Wyre areas. They exist to provide quality affordable homes in rural areas and developing new homes for people who are in housing need with a strong local connection with their villages a real synergy between both organisations. Lune Valleys properties were previously managed by Jigsaw Homes Group Ltd but tenants will now receive similar services from SLH. Tenancy conditions are not affected as a result of the change in Managing Agent and tenants will continue to be a tenant of Lune Valley. Jigsaw Homes will continue to provide new development services under a different contract.
