Get Involved

SLH wants to enable as many tenants and leaseholders as possible to get involved in influencing decisions about services and there are lots of different ways in which you can have your say.

Tenants’ Committee

Tenants’ Committee scrutinises all major decisions affecting policies and services to tenants. A leaseholder is also represented on the Committee.

Meetings are usually on Thursday’s at 10.30am at the SLH offices in Kendal. If you are interested in joining then please contact customerservices@southlakeshousing.co.uk

The current schedule of meetings is as follows (minutes are available to view in the links);

Tenant Involvement Club (TIC)

Any tenant or leaseholder who is willing to give their views on the services they receive is invited to become a member of the TIC. Members select from a ‘menu’ of involvement options, including; mystery shopping, scrutiny panel, complaints panel or estate walkabouts.

Become a Shareholder

Being a shareholder means that you can put forward your own views along with others contributing to the direction of SLH. Becoming a shareholder in SLH doesn’t reward you with any dividends but it does mean that you will be invited to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and you will automatically receive a copy of the Annual Financial Statements and Accounts. Shareholding membership just costs £1.

If you are interested in supporting SLH by becoming a shareholder then please contact customerservices@southlakeshousing.co.uk

Residents’ Associations

SLH supports existing and new residents’ associations with things like training, grants, advisory support and access to office equipment. If you are interested in setting up a residents’ association then please contact customerservices@southlakeshousing.co.uk
