South Lakes Housing has taken the decision not to renew the lease for our Ulverston office to move to a more efficient and customer-focused way of working. This decision has been made as the Ulverston office had only been open two days a week. We have been monitoring the customer usage for some time and footfall levels have continued to drop. The office has always been far from ideal as it is not fully accessible to customers with mobility issues or with young children in buggies.
We will continue to have staff based locally with technology that will enable them to visit customers in their home and they will utilise community buildings and meeting room facilities such as the Croftlands Community Centre, Coronation Hall etc. This will give customers access to the vast majority of services previously offered at the office.
