Leaseholder Services
Welcome to our dedicated section for South Lakes Housing’s leaseholders
The leasehold services section aims to provide leaseholders with useful information, specific to you as a leaseholder. Most answers to questions from leaseholders can be found in the links on the left hand side of this page.
What is a leaseholder?
If you have bought your flat or maisonette from SLH or a previous leaseholder, you will buy it on a long lease (usually 125 years). The lease is your agreement with SLH and sets out your rights and responsibilities as a leaseholder.

The block or building you live in is still owned by SLH and you will have to pay towards the annual cost of managing, maintaining and improving the building, its services, and communal areas. This payment is called the service charge.
Leaseholder Service Charges
Each year you will receive a invoice for the following:
- Ground rent
- Management / Administration fee and services
- Repairs / Maintenance
Payment can be made in 10 monthly installments by arrangement
