At South Lakes Housing (SLH), we are committed to delivering high-quality homes and services to our customers.

To achieve this, we partner with suppliers and contractors of all sizes who share our values and dedication to excellence, making positive environmental impacts and driving social change.

We have a proven track record of successful working partnerships with a diverse range of small, medium and large suppliers and contractors, providing valuable investment, employment and training to our local economy.

As an independent, not-for-profit housing association, we continually reinvest in our communities.

We have a broad range of tender opportunities ranging from building safety, grounds maintenance, new build developments, energy efficiency works, repairs and maintenance to telephony, surveys and IT support.

With over 3,600 affordable rented homes across the South Lakeland region and over 9000 customers to serve, we are particularly keen to work with local SME’s including building and roofing.

Maximising Public Benefit

We prioritise outcomes that benefit the public and our communities. Suppliers and contractors should demonstrate a commitment to delivering value for money, ensuring that investment is used efficiently and effectively.

Transparency and Integrity

We uphold ethical standards throughout the procurement process. Suppliers and contractors must act with integrity, treating all suppliers/contractors fairly and avoiding any conflicts of interest. You will be expected to pay and look after your staff, have high environmental credentials and operate to the same code of conduct.

You will also share the same commitment to combatting slavery and human trafficking (please see our Modern Slavery Statement).

Value for Money

Delivering value for money is a core objective. We expect suppliers and contractors to provide high-quality services at competitive prices, ensuring that every pound spent contributes to the best possible outcomes for our customers.

Social Value and Sustainability

SLH is committed to creating social value and promoting sustainability. We seek suppliers and contractors who can contribute to community development, health and wellbeing, social inclusion, and environmental conservation. Suppliers and contractors should align with our values of Sustainability, Learning, Inclusivity, Challenge, and Excellence.

Innovation and Collaboration

We encourage innovation and collaboration. Suppliers and contractors should be open to new approaches and ideas, working with us to find solutions that meet the needs of our customers and communities. Engaging with the market and stakeholders is crucial to designing effective procurement strategies. We will seek your ideas for doing things differently throughout the life of your contract with us.

Commitment to Safety & Quality

Safety & Quality is at the heart of everything we do. Suppliers and Contractors should strive to deliver high-quality outcomes, being proud of the service they give and continuously seeking ways to improve. Our Behaviours Framework emphasises caring about delivering high-quality services, taking responsibility, respecting diversity, being adaptable, working together, being curious, making things happen, and always improving.

You will share the same commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children (please see our Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults at Risk Policy).

If that aligns with your business, then you are in the right place to land a contract with us.

Engagement and Communication

Effective communication and engagement with SLH and our customers are vital. Suppliers and contractors should be proactive in sharing information, providing updates, and addressing any issues that arise during the course of their work. If you are providing services or works to our customers that we would expect you to follow our Customer Services Standards and Complaints Policy.
