SLH Senior Leadership Team Visits the Lune Valley

Members of South Lakes Housing’s Senior Leadership Team recently visited the Lune Valley to meet residents, see homes and neighbourhoods first-hand, and learn more about the area following the merger with Lune Valley Rural Housing Association.

The visit formed part of an ongoing monthly programme to make leadership more visible across our communities, giving leaders the opportunity to spend time in neighbourhoods across our 1,000-square-mile area and hear directly from residents.

During the day, the Senior Leadership Team explored villages along the River Lune and spoke with residents about what they value most, the challenges of rural living, and the importance of affordable, high-quality homes that help people stay connected to the places they call home.

Pam Mastrantonio, Chief Executive of South Lakes Housing, said:

“Spending time in the communities we serve is one of the most important ways we can understand what matters most to residents. Following our recent merger with Lune Valley Rural Housing Association, it was particularly valuable to visit the area, meet local residents and gain a deeper understanding of the communities that are now part of South Lakes Housing. The visit allowed us to see first-hand the strengths of these rural communities, hear about local challenges and opportunities, and strengthen our understanding of how we can continue to support people to thrive in the places they call home.”

The visit reflects South Lakes Housing’s new business strategy “Your Home, Our Community” and place based housing model, which focus on understanding local needs, listening to residents and working with partners to strengthen the places where people live.
