On Sunday 27th April, a number of SLH colleagues (& supporters) took part in this year’s Kendal Colour Dash, raising over £240 in sponsorship and donations so far for St John’s Hospice!
St John’s Hospice is a local charity which provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions. Their services cover a population area of 250,000 people in North Lancashire, South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. They have been caring for our community every minute of every day since 1986.
Their aim is to ensure that on the journey towards the end of life, that they provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time and their care focuses on providing patients with relief from symptoms and end of life care. The hospice works with their patients to make sure they are getting the care and support they need to live their life their way, as much as possible.
Around a quarter of their funding is from the government and the remaining three-quarters is raised by people like us in our local community.
Every penny counts – every penny helps St John’s to provide care, compassion and support for local people and those who love them.
