South Lakes Housing invests £3.9 million in warmer, greener homes

While we’ve all been enjoying the warm summer weather, we’re already planning ahead to help residents stay warm, comfortable and save money when the colder months arrive.

As part of our commitment to providing quality homes and supporting sustainable communities, we’re investing £3.9 million during 2026/27 to improve the energy efficiency of homes across our communities.

These improvements will help residents benefit from:

  • Lower energy bills
  • Reduced carbon emissions
  • More comfortable homes throughout the year
  • Support in tackling fuel poverty

The investment programme includes a range of energy efficiency measures, such as:

  • Loft insulation
  • Wall insulation
  • Improved ventilation
  • Solar panels where suitable

This work supports our ambition for all South Lakes Housing homes to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above by 2030.
