New Year and a New Challenge

We are looking for two Non-Executive Board Members to join an ambitious and independent not-for-profit housing association which provides good quality, affordable homes and services in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. We operate in the South Cumbria and North Lancashire area, providing 3500 affordable homes. We are embarking on a new business strategy which is being co-created between the Board, executive, colleagues and our residents.

Our governance structure has been recently reviewed, and we have placed greater emphasis on resident engagement and customer influence at the Board, whilst strengthening our approach to; strategic asset management, oversight of key risks and board assurance.

We are looking for individuals who have appropriate experience and skills who can contribute to our high standard of governance. There are two non-executive positions available to serve on our Board, to start before April 2026. In addition, there is the potential for two Independent Specialist Member positions to serve on one of our Committees a bit later in the year and applicants will be considered for these positions too.

South Lakes Housing has a talented Board and is on the lookout for individuals with one or more of the following skills and experience at a senior level:

  • Older people’s services
  • Development and asset management
  • Housing management or customer engagement
  • Human resources and organisational development
  • Treasury and finance
  • Legal and governance
