Lift Safety

Lift Safety

As your landlord, we’re responsible for the maintenance and repairs of passenger lifts and lifting equipment, such as stair lifts and hoists in communal areas of buildings and homes owned by South Lakes Housing, to make sure they are safe to use.

We regularly carry out both inspections and servicing, to make sure the lifts are safe to use and help prevent breakdowns.

If you have a stair lift or hoist(s) fitted in your home which has been funded by a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) it is important that you allow South Lakes Housing to service and inspect the lifting equipment when required. This is to make sure the equipment is safe for you; your family; and your carers to use and to help prevent breakdowns.
