Your amenity charge pays for most of the Council's
sheltered housing service, which covers things like:
- The Scheme Manager

- Control centre charges
- Communal facilities

Sheltered Housing Agreement
Sheltered housing tenants have had the opportunity to draw up
action plans for their scheme. The plans form part of a
sheltered
housing agreement which outlines:
- The information tenants can expect to receive about the
sheltered housing service and how that should be provided
- How they can monitor the service which they receive
- How they can become involved in planning new services or
altering the existing service
Careline
Careline is an alarm system which helps elderly or disabled
tenants to get assistance when they need it. A special telephone
and pendant are used to contact a control centre which is staffed
24 hours a day. The control centre is able to summon help from
relatives, friends or neighbours to attend to tenants in need of
assistance.
The Council provides this service to elderly or disabled
tenants living in certain Council bungalows and
flats. For more information or to report any fault in your Careline
equipment please contact us on 01539 717717.
