Following a day of fundraising at the ‘Doodleshire Fair’ at Gooseholme in Kendal, on Saturday 16^th May 2009, Bev Townley, South Lakes Housing, Lisa Chant, Bramall Construction, Joan Chadwick and Margaret Akrigg, members of South Lakes Housing’s Tenants’ Committee, raised £70.00 for Cancer Research UK..

The group raised the money by selling vast quantities of home baking, raffling a luxury food hamper and charging to guess the number of sweets in a jar and the birthday of a large teddy bear.
