The Finance Team
The Finance & IT Team look after the statutory books
of account for South Lakes Housing. We are responsible for
providing accurate and informative management accounts
which are reviewed with the SLH Board, the Tenant's
Committee and budget holders. We are also
responsible for all the statutory financial submissions
to Companies House, Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise,
as well as the Treasury Management function of the
business.
Treasury
Responsible for the collection of the rental income of the
Council, and methods of collection. Also, the review of
cashflow within the company, and managing relations with our
bankers. We are currently reviewing all our methods of collection,
and have recently added a second direct debit date, to enable
tenants to have greater options.
Accountancy
Provision of accounts for Companies House, and internal
management accounts. The cost and value of services is a critical
part of our business, and the accountancy team take an
important part of informing all our staff on our financial
performance.
Performance Management
This is a recent development, and has really begun to form an
important part of our business.
We look carefully at our performance in all areas, both
against other ALMO's but also against other Social Housing
providers. This helps us decide which areas of our business
need improving, or where have issues we need to resolve.
Procurement
The company expects to be spending £21m on the Council houses
of South Lakeland between now and 2010. The company is keen
that it gains maximum benefit from that expenditure, to improve its
stock, and the estates for tenants. We will take part
in the management and review of those spending process during that
time.
