Single Equality Scheme
SLH has developed a Single Equality Scheme which contains a set
of actions to further embed equality and diversity.

SLH also undertake equality analysis for
services, strategies, policies and procedures. This is done for a
number of reasons;
· It’s the law
· It’s a tool to eliminate
discrimination.
· It helps identify improvements to
services, strategies or procedures.
· They help to avoid continuing or
adopting harmful policies.
· They also improve services to ensure
they are more accessible.
· They also help us to think about the
needs of various groups.
The following documents have undergone
consultation with our Service Improvement Groups which is made up
of Tenants, Tenants Committee Members and other interested groups.
Cumbria Rural Equality Group has also undertaken a review and their
comments and suggestions have been incorporated.
